At first I want to say that I have nothing do do with the company spscplugins.
Today I discovered a new synth of spcplugins called "Arcsynth".
http://www.spcplugins.com/arcsyn
I thought I have now hundreds of synths I do not need a new one.
But I installed the demo. To my own surprise arcsynth is a different to my other synths.
It has many beautiful ambient sounds that I am looking for many years.
It is perfect for my music. I am very happy with it.

looks interesting, but it looks like the GUI was an afterthought with those knobs that could use a little contrast adjustment.

Good to see SPC back with a new plug
I have used that free gate of theirs alot over the years
It costs a bit, $99, but as there is a OSX version I guess there must be a 64 bit version of it
The specs, so there is a new contender for the Wave Sequencing crown:
-No samples—all oscillator waveforms are generated from scratch.
-Many unique waveforms including Sub-harmonics, Bit-Noise and FM Crossfade.
-Unique LFOs feature wave sequencing and hundreds of unusual waveforms including many random types.
-Powerful, self-oscillating filters based on the Oberheim Matrix 12.
-Many unusual filter types like Frequency Shifter, Scramble and Multi-Alias.
-Smooth, natural sound quality throughout—Oscillators and filters are 4X oversampled, all audio processing is done in 64-bit arithmetic and control signals are updated at 5500Hz or higher.
-Comes with over 350 preset programs.

Well, at least it seems consistent over all their plugins. So I guess it's a stylistic choicelayzer wrote:looks interesting, but it looks like the GUI was an afterthought with those knobs that could use a little contrast adjustment.

That is one heck of an ugly and user-hostile interface

Something else we agree on. We gotta stop making a habit of this. LOL.fluffy_little_something wrote:That is one heck of an ugly and user-hostile interface

@ Gucky
Same thing over here.
Totally impressed by this synth.
Didn't take long to go from demoed it to actually buying it.
One page UI for such a powerful synth with that much of sound designing possibilities!
This dev definitely deserves some praise.

It needs to be 20% bigger than the image above, in order to being able to read all the controls properly

Oh, it actually costs something and it is multi-platform, I thought it was some SE freeware judging from the looks of it

Ya think? I'd go a step further and say those knobs need to be completely redesigned. The rest of the UI is OK, but those knobs... and I'm an Italian from NJ!layzer wrote:looks interesting, but it looks like the GUI was an afterthought with those knobs that could use a little contrast adjustment.
