Hi folks,
Since 2 days I hear cracking and props when using VSTs, it also occurs when I playback in Cubase. When I play a CD through Winamp there's no problem. My specs: P4 3.06Ghz HT, 1GB Ram Windows XP SP1 Cubase SX 2.2.035 M-Audio Ozone, Sampledepth 24 bit, max samplerate 96Khz: ASIO, driver version 5.10.0003504 Anyone who could help? Goodday from Holland, Niels |

Turn off Hyperthreading in the BIOS, try again.

I'm not sure about sx, there should be something on the audio setup page that allows you to change buffer size. |

It's not in SX, it's in his audio card driver to lower or raise the buffers. Still, I bet it's HT being turned on. Devon ---- Simple music philosophy - Those who can, make music. Those who can't, make excuses. Read my VST reviews at Traxmusic! |

Damn! Well, go turn it back on at least! Keep in mind though, the crackles and HT are notorious. What audio card do have? Devon ---- Simple music philosophy - Those who can, make music. Those who can't, make excuses. Read my VST reviews at Traxmusic! |

I've got an M-audio Ozone integrated controller/interface with latest drivers. Cleant up my pc 2 weeks ago, never had problems before. Thanks for your help. Niels
PS. Where to find buffersize? Could it be clock source? Its internal now |

if it's anything like the delta series, you should be able to set it..somewhere, should be in your control panel to get access, look for dma buffersize |

What did you do to 'clean up'? When did the crackles start EXACTLY, and what was changed before that?
Problem is crackles can come from sooo many different things too. Devon ---- Simple music philosophy - Those who can, make music. Those who can't, make excuses. Read my VST reviews at Traxmusic! |
