A request for assistance, please.
Would anyone be kind enough to advise on what sort of drum track would work with this tune?
Tried loads of different patterns and kits. I just can't do drums.
The tune itself is a work in progress. It's had a bit of a mix and a master but needs more work.
But the drums ...... Dear me. I'm shocking with drum tracks.
I appreciate you're all busy enjoying your Christmas. Hope you're all having a great time.
But if there's anyone with the time and inclination to assist, I'd really appreciate it.
Perhaps download the wav and show me the way to go. 115bpm btw.
Dropbox link to the wav file....

Thanks in advance.

Quite hard track to put drums since it is so non percussive to begin with. I'd say just try out a simple 4/4 kick/snare pattern and put them far back in the mix. Don't use kick in the stomach kind of drums but more timid and short ones.
I think it would help to perhaps rethink the bass in the track a bit, use a more defined bass line to go with and pronounce the rhythm. Now everything is very "flowy" and thus drums easily becomes awkward. A pronounced bass line would help that.
This would of course change the feel of the track some, maybe you don't want that, maybe you don't even need drums.

I'd use either a kick on beats 1 & 3,with the snare on 2 & 4 (boring!) or a sidestick on each beat with a mildly syncopated kick. Hats to taste.

Alternatively, add fills at the end of segments as markers and leave the rest of the track with a very sparse pulse, perhaps marking only the first beat in the bar.

Really liked your track, don't think it needs full on drums , just some simple drummachine like rhythmic accompaniment here and there
Probably not the way you wanted to go, but I gave it a shot
This is the way I F'd up your track :

Pretty straightforward four on the floor techno beat with hats on the off beat sounds "natural" to me.
