Hello! Was curious what you people thought of my new orchestral song, part 4 of Arhythmology?

I agree with what Allomerus said - it's somehow both relaxed and urgent. Personally, I would have made the percussive hits a bit bigger, but it's definitely a perfectly valid choice to keep them more restrained. Overall, I enjoyed listening. It's nicely constructed and mixed.

Overall I agree with the two previous comments:
Various musical elements combine quite subtly to create that chilled / insistent duality. It certainly creates a strong story in my head...I has some great images running whilst listening!
Mix is certainly quite effective, although I personally would like the depth to be even more varied - more sounds towards the front of the sound stage maybe? (Not sure...personal taste + mixing is something that I don't always get right myself)! :0)
There are a couple of musical elements that I would definitely want to develop further:
1) Rhythms - NOT necessarily a negative, but...a lot of the piece is quite dominated by regular 4 note quaver patterns with the accent always on the first of the four. I would want more subtle syncopation behind this / more variation maybe? I have a mild obsession with rhythmic complexity, (the therapy didn't work), so, again this is just a personal observation!
2) Melodically - all the various strands combine very effectively, but nothing stands out as a seriously strong 'hook' for me. This style of music, (if it is to stand alone without visuals), often needs a very strong hook of some sort - often melodic, but not always.

I like it but it did not really draw me in yet. Sounds like a piece for a movie, but you need to have seen the movie to really "feel" the music.
It also started of quite strong, maybe build it up calmer first?
Just my two cents!
