Had a play with the new note echo device to do granular sample manipulation - sounds really nice!

And here´s the preset:

There are many ways to skin this, i´d be interested what you´ve come up with so far.

I think this is more like the way intended:
(framerate is too low to show the modulation properly)

Steps modulator in pitch mode is just insane.

Sleep pattern is shifting back and forth due to work but i´m fine, thanks.
Reworked the last preset, loaded sample is tracking pitch now, note expression micro-pitch works too. Have a listen:

The exact settings for 'best' sound are still dependent on the length of the sample loaded (after trimming) so you have to adjust and experiment.

the previous example had more impact somehow, maybe because of the vocal.

Just noticed macro 'grain size' was not hooked up, new version:
The sound is completely dependent on the sample, this shows the ability to do a smooth stretch better imo. Love those grainy vocal chops too though! You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Very good, but it will use these tools, you can create something that emulates the beat repeating Ableton, I feel that something like Bitwig is missing.

sorry but i don't get this sentence. Who is it? Do you mean ableton is missing these modulators that bitwig provides?plauto wrote:Very good, but it will use these tools, you can create something that emulates the beat repeating Ableton, I feel that something like Bitwig is missing.

I mean, there is no way to create something similar to beat repeat.

I have been doing this in V1 already (you need to create the triggering notes by hand, so it's more limited), and have sent the devs some messages about this... It really does not sound very good, at least I get a lot of pops and crackles if I try to play I too many grains. I guess the polyphony is quite limited. An update is planned for the sampler, but it's not first on the list of stuff they are working on now.
