How to link a sequencer (beatstep pro) to fl studio clock

Hey people. I bought a beatstep pro to try and create a bit of variety in my melodies and basslines etc but I'm having a hard time getting it to talk to fl studio properly. It's not in their list of pre-synced controller, I've got it working however it doesn't sync to the BPM, and I can't get it to sync to the steps sequencer, ie. whatever I play in on the beatstep comes in completely off the grid and I have to move it around to line up up with the track in FL studio.

I have their recommended settings and master sync on but is their any advice for this, it's really frustrating!
