Wusikstation Beta-Testing.

Private tests: Pre-Order users, friends, old-beta testers group.

If you would like to be part of the tests, please, contact williamk@wusik.com, but only if you are part of the list above. Wink

---------------------------------------------------

Current testing:

Guys, I need some help now on testing the Mod-Matrix, at least what's working so far.

I just uploaded Beta-2s, with several new fixes and added features.

Ok, what I need to know is how is the CPU usage of the synth so far. Without using any Mod-Matrix slots, and using a few things like Envelopes and Midi-CCs.

Mind you that the LFOs are still not working. And only the Midi-CCs and Envelopes can be used as Sources so far.

Also, the Destinations. Only Layers O1/O2/O3/O4 can be set as Destination. The Main area is not working yet, and will be Mono.

The Sync option is working already, but it won't sound like an analog sync emulation.

Best Regards, WilliamK

Hy guys, here is what I'm testing right now.

Filters, pretty much it for now. Wink I'm doing the code on the filters. I know that without Envelopes you can't test much, so I will also work on part of the Mod-Matrix for the envelopes and LFOs to Filter-Frequency. Wink

I also added on the beta a new filter mode, Notch (N) so is LP/BP/HP/N - this is very usefull, to do spacial effects and deep pads. Cool

I also got the code for Hermite interpolation ready, but is not active yet. I will add a Quality Normal/High option on the global-menu to switch this on/off. Since the code for it uses a lot more CPU usage, and in normal usage is not a big deal. Use mostly for rendering the song to disk. Razz

Also, mind you, again, that this first beta is not optimized at all.

Thanks to the help of an user, a good manual will come with the synth. (not sure if the user wants to show his name right now)

Ok, back to work for me now...

I just uploaded a quick beta-2b:

- Moog filter cut goes lower now.
- Filter note-start checks if envelope is OFF and resets the filter. This avoids a ZAP when using SMOOTH=ON.

Hy, I just uploaded a NEW beta that DOES sound now. Wink So please, check the URL again, maybe hit F5 in IE to refresh the list. Download both files, VSTi and Data. I'm uploading Beta-2c in a few minutes. Cool

[EDIT] Ahhh, I forgot to remove that Pre-Beta message, sorry about that. Will do now... Embarassed

I just uploaded Beta-2c, sorry for so many fixes in such a short time. But as I'm working, I will keep uploading the files. Wink

Jens: It should sound bud, here it plays. I'm using Orion and CubaseSX to test. Maybe is a bug somewhere, I will check. What is your host?

Beta-2c

- All Filters works in 96khz now.
- Currect and equal range on all filters.
- Removed Pre-Beta message, should show "BETA VERSION 2c" on the start now.

Here is one isue, you can't load the FXB bank without the Editor opened, I will fix that. Also, if you can't load the FXB file, you need to init a few parameters so you can get sound out of it. I will also fix that.

This is a REALLY BETA test, the product is not ready. What I want to test are the filters, a new code I'm working on. That's all. Wink

o.k. - I tried it now with Tracktion and got sound - before I used energyXT - the filter makes some kind of
crackling noise while being tweaked

I included a few waveforms and sounds on the DATA installer. Just open the FXB file, the first preset is ready to play. Just send some midi-note to the plugin, that's all you need. Wink It may respond only to channel-1, I have to check that.

Here all I did to test was, open Cubase-SX, added Wusikstation VSTi, opened the Editor, opened the FXB file, selected preset 01. Added a track on Cubase, set Wusikstation as output. Send some midi-notes to it. Click on filter frequency to test the filter. That's it. If you click on the other layers, be carefull to not MUTE the O1 layer. Razz

If no one can make it play, maybe something went wrong with my installer program... Embarassed but it -should- work...

Ok, we have to see about that. Here all filters are good. BUT, click on the "M" word, that's the SMOOTH option. While on OFF tweaking the filter will make cracking noises, with M ON (red) it won't. Can you test that for me?

Here is a short manual for the filter. The upper option is S/P, will be Serial or Paralel filters, when the second filter will be activated.

The options on the left of RES:

LP/BP/HP/N - Low Pass, Band Pass, High Pass and Notch filter. The type of the filter.

2/4/MG - 2 Pole, 4 Pole or Moog Style (4 pole)

M (Off = black - On = red) Smooth option. When ON the filter goes much nicer when tweaking. No zippering noise. (crackling?)

Hope that helps.
