This is not my usual style of listening material, but I really enjoyed it. I loved the contrast between the sound of the "verses" and "chorus" where the addition of the DnB percussion really gave the music a lift (not that it needed it), and the overall sound was "dreamy". The vocals and their FX treatments were very effective.

Good work :)

Very catchy tune, and she sounds wonderful. Can't tell what she says in the chorus though, vocals are relatively quiet in that part. Stereo image gets slightly wonky after the last breakdown. I'd probably call this pop with some dnb influences, but who cares, thoroughly enjoyable stuff!

@seismic1 thanks so much for listening despite it not really being your thing - I appreciate the feedback on it being dreamy and the things you liked about it - always good to know the good stuff when learning!

@.jon Glad you like her voice. I think your feedback is totally spot on! I really appreciate it - the vocals do get quiet and difficult to understand in the chorus. We ended up leaving it kind of abstract because frankly it was difficult to fix it, the way the audio was structured (poorly). But being that its the chorus, it might be worth improving the clarity of it in the future. Great catch on the stereo image getting wonky near the end - it might be at least partly the bells that i just threw in panned a bit to the left there. An unplanned last minute element which helps but would have been so much damn work to rebalance given the amount of layering i'd done at that point.

I think Pop with DnB influences is probably quite a good description, however with the general style and 'non hooky' / abstract chorus, i feel that a lot of pop listeners would be put off by it. It's in this weird middle zone between the two. I'm really glad you found it enjoyable - thanks very much for taking the time and giving feedback!

Lots of cool sounds, effects and a good beat on this song. The vocalist has an attractive voice from What I can hear on the verses. I wasn’t able to figure out exactly what this song is about. I heard the title at the beginning but I’m not sure if it was repeated in the chorus or if that’s the central idea of the song. Maybe there needs to be more “meat” to hook the listener into repeated listens.

@fastlanephil: Thanks a whole lot for listening! I think your feedback makes a lot of sense. Glad you enjoyed the voice! I love it too. I think the song really does lack a strong easy to understand 'hook' too. It's very abstract in design which I'm sure would confuse a lot of people and maybe make it hard to stay in the song. I think in this case the dreaminess became a big part of the appeal, and diving into that world. But it would be cool with a clearer hook! Thanks for sharing that info from your perspective :) much appreciated.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear such sounds on MTV or channels like that, really well done contemporary pop music. The vocals are nice, too.

Greetings
