I want to use the iPad as a multi-touch surface to improvise music likely in the Ambient style. So what I need is apps with midi out from the iPad to play my VSTi’s in my PC

I have the iPad Air and Windows 10, 64 bit PC. I use Studio One 3.5
My Studio viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7760&p=6718002#p6718002
Also have Lemur Editor https://liine.net/en/
I have the iConnectmidi2+ https://www.iconnectivity.com/products/ ... midi2plus/ which is CoreMidi compatible. It has audio pass-through which sometimes I use.
Apps I have: Arp Pro, SoundPrism Pro, Animoog, Seline Redux Pro, Sunriser, Chordion

Interested in any of the following types of apps:
Chord progression, midi effects, arps, alterative keyboards, generative music, inter-active.

Please post your suggestion preferably with a link and your comments.

Thanks in advance.

I like Orphion. Although I don't know if it's updated to run on iOS 11. I used it with Alchemy Mobile a lot. It's been quite some time since I've used it, but I assume it will work to control things outside of the iPad.

And, of course, Lemur which you already mentioned.

Wow!

I’ve tried them all...excluding Seaquence (name was wrongz) and they all output midi through my iRig midi which is Coremidi.

The way I have been doing it is to look up an app to see if there is a note stating that it is coremidi compatible. So how then does one know if the app will work with my coremidi compatible iConnetmidi2+?

Thanks for pointing out that your suggestions are coremidi compatible.

Frankly, whenever there’s midi in/out mentioned, my iRig Midi has always worked. I watched Yt videos featuring apps sending midi to hardware the first times, but it became a rule and midi generating apps have been my first priority since I got an air2.

Works both ways, I midisync apps like Ripplemaker/Troublemaker with hardware machines and jam.

Now that you mention it, I remember trying Chordflow only internally, sending to Gadget. But you can ask Mr.Klochkov, the author, he’s responsive and helpful.

Thanks again. :tu:

This increases the potential apps to use. :D

Interesting. I would certainly try Orphion with external gear, but I lost the CCK quite some time ago. I do feel like I used Orphion hooked it up through an iConnectMIDI (I have the original one) and was controlling a rack mount synth, but it's been so many years, I'm not 100% sure.

Oh wait. I have an iPad 2 and 30-pin CCK (somewhere around the house) and also an old 30-pin iRig MIDI somewhere around the house. I will test Orphion out if I can find all the parts I need to hook things up.
