I've just released a "Patch Librarian" for Ichiro Toda's "Synth1" Analog VST instrument (for Windows). It makes it easier to navigate and search for patches, and it uses heuristics to discover similar sounding patches.

If you decide to try it, you can install if from here: https://neutrinosky.com/downloads. There are a few installation steps, so please read the instructions that appear during the setup.

I'd love some feedback. If you report back any major issues, I'll do my best to fix them for you.

This looks great, but considering you created an account a month ago and this is your first post, I admit I'm a bit skeptical.

I would have released it sooner, but my friend found some bugs, and so I needed more time to stabilise the code.

You could always run it in an isolated virtual machine, if you're concerned...

This isn't something I will need but it's nice to see Synth 1 getting some love.

Like I said about seven years ago when I opined that Ichiro Toda should be awarded the Developer's Challenge prize, in seven years no one will remember what plugins were released in that DC but in seven years we'll still be talking about Synth 1.

Feels good to be vindicated........

@devilnishy: Is that VSTHost that you're using in your screenshot? I'll see if I can reproduce the problem and isolate the cause. Is Synth1 itself working OK for you?

Yes vst host. Ive tried it in a few other daws Reaper, Sonar same thing. Synth1 working fine!

Hi guys,

OneDrive is back up (seems they had a massive outage), and I've uploaded a newer version to the same location.

When the librarian opens for the first time, it doesn't know where the Synth1 DLL and zip files are, so these settings need to be provided (use the file browser buttons circled in the image):

The plugin needs to be restarted after changing these settings, and then you can build your patch library.

@Pytchblend: I've uploaded a newer version which loads in Reaper now:

I don't know why Reaper shows all of the extra DLL files, but the one you want is Synth1.Librarian.64.

This looks super useful, I think something similar for Dexed would be great since there's thousands of patches for it.
