Rephrase 1.2 is a significant update, with a completely rewritten spectral engine. The new engine affords the following benefits:
* Pristine sound quality - true sampler like quality reproduction. * Stereo audio support - stereo audio can now be imported and 'Rephrased'. * Faster import - audio is imported around 3X as quickly. * Faster load/save - native format loads/saves are about twice as quick. * Smaller rephrase files - .RPH files are significantly smaller. The update is scheduled for release in March, and will be free to all existing Rephrase owners. There will be no price increase to match the leap in quality and performance, so Rephrase 1.2 will represent fantastic value for such professional quality results. Also the time-limit in the demo versions will be removed from version 1.2 and forwards. We will be updating all of the audio demos on the website and are also looking for high quality royalty-free vocal tracks to better demonstrate the new quality. If you have some own-produced vocals that you would like to contribute, they would be greatfully received. Last edited by justin_leapfrog on Fri May 27, 2005 3:26 pm; edited 2 times in total |

Not far away now no. It's in beta stage and is just having a final polish - we're still planning a March release. |

I've just finished updating the website - Rephrase 1.2 is finally here!
If you tried the previous demo and were either: - not convinced by the sound quality or, - didn't get along with the 14-day restriction Then please do give the new demo another try - it's soooo much improved. Justin |

Justin I just got email notification that 1.2 was released and is "free to all existing Rephrase owners." HOwever, I can't for the life of me see where to download the upgrade. I didn't download the demo in case it is just a demo. Do i uninstall the previous version or install over it? |

Some comments from users about the sound quality? Is it now really sampler like quality even when shifted by +-1 octave?
Justin, what are now the demo limitations? And are you already infected by the group-buy fever? |

"does it mean that you may have now all your working time free for the macosx version?"
Hopefully yes! "Some comments from users about the sound quality? Is it now really sampler like quality even when shifted by +-1 octave?" It's sampler like, in that if you don't change anything it will usually sound identical. +-1 octave it's certainly not sampler like - samplers will double/halve the speed and the formant structure - Rephrase preserves the original speed and spectrum, sounding much, much nicer The demo limitations are as before, but without the 14-day limit. And I currently don't yet have the group-buy fever! |

Thanks for the answer. Will try it soon. |
