Hi.
It's possible that it doens't work. I had complaints that zynaddsubfx doesnt work with some vst hosts (including steinberg). While I will be able to see the reason, please use the standalone version. Paul |

Oh!!!
How can I see, if the VST is an instrument or an effect? Is there an, maybe, freeware VST host where I can use zynaddsubfx? I love it and do not want to miss it any more. |

You see it's an instruments if this make sounds when you play midi notes with a keyboard or a midi file You can use EnergyXT as a stand alone ,or the vsti version of EnergyXT,there is also an effect version of EnergyXT,but only recognized as an effect. EnergyXT is a kind of chainer interface that has three versions, one as a stand alone, the two others are recognized as a vsti and vst effect in cubase. I hope it's clear for you because it's not easy to differenciate EnergyXT for someone who don't know |

The most simple yet very capable small vst host is Tobybear's MiniHost. You can take it from kvr, it's donationware. |

I succeeded in using a vst instrument in kristal and
coupling cristal audio engine synchronized with the midi sequencer of energyXT,i did also midi recording first and after an audio recording sync with the midi and that's works First i load in a channel fx,energyXTE and in this one i load the Midi In XT plugin that allows to control an instrument like ZynAddSufx and also the sequencer in energyXT that you can sync with the Kristal host. kristal can control the play of the sequencer but not the recording,so it's better to begin the recording of the midi and using the enrgyXT metronome by loading a drum sample, like a rimshot. The sync is a real one and the time or beats displayed in kristal shows the same as the energyXT sequencer Of course it's not cubase but it's all free! |
