Normally I'd agree with this statement. However, this one doesn't sound like it's processed much at all. I recreated it using just a filtered square wave, pitch and filter envelopes. The first one is Sytrus. Just for fun the second one uses the ol'school DreamStation. mp3 version: http://www.geocities.com/jesse_wade/FL/StefaniBassFX.mp3 FL Studio 5 Project: http://www.geocities.com/jesse_wade/FL/StefaniBassFX.flp |

Really good! Yes, I agree with you completely...it didn't sound too complicated to me. And whoever thinks Gwen Stefani makes her own beats is incorrect. Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, and Andre 3000 are to thank. |

To me it sounds like an 808, pitched down, going through some lo fi effect or something..
By the way, I really like this song.. ---- Play it by ear |

Hi McLilith..
I find this piece really interesting. I am not talking about the lyrics, but the music. Very original me thinks. Very percussive. I like the use of the acoustic guitar, and the brass is sweet. I am not a no doubt fan ( I do like "Hey baby" though) nor am I a Gwen fan, but I have this particular song on my playlist. I also have 1 Britney Spears song ( Toxic )and 1 Justin Timberlake song (can't remember the title ). If I like it I like it.. These days I am more into Zero 7, Amon Tobin, and Air though ---- Play it by ear |

On another note.. what's up with U2's "uno,dos,tres,catorze...". One, two, three, fourteen? ---- Play it by ear Last edited by pheeleep on Wed Apr 27, 2005 8:25 pm; edited 1 time in total |
