Not sure if this is the right section for this, but I'll just take my chances I guess...

Anyway I'm looking for a program to practice reading score for guitar, something that displays a note and then asks you to tell it where on the neck that note is.
Preferably this should be freeware, I've had a look at Sight Warrior by the guy who made Fretboard Warrior but that costs $15 which is a little steep for such a relatively simple application IMHO. Also it should preferably give me money everytime I give a correct answer, but that is highly optional.

Btw, I have Band In a Box 10 so if there's any such feature in there that I've missed I'd be happy to hear about it.

I dont know of any software unfortunately. My advice is to get some starter books for classical guitar. Guitar music is horrible to read, but with practice it is possible to sight read. Maybe try working through the grades? I think Trinity are the best for guitar.

Plus you when you get decent you can smooth your Mrs with a little Flammenco! HiHi

Try downloading Guitar Pro 4 demo - (www.guitar-pro.com) It will allow you to single out a guitar peice, displays the musical notes and has a fret board that shows the placement of the note on the neck of a guitar, banjo as well as bass, and allows for alternate tunings.

I am sure there are others but that is what comes to mind at the moment.

Good Luck!
