DML stands for digital musician link. It is a VST 2.0 based audio effect plug-in which is capable of sending audio and MIDI data to a second DML and receiving data via the Internet. Both audio and MIDI data are in perfect sync to the sequencer when they arrive at your workstation. The technology behind this process is called time-stamping. DMM, as does the DML, creates a direct audio/video and chat connection between two sequencers such as Logic and Pro Tools. In contrast to the DML, the DMM is specially designed to work on the master channel insert.
