OP-X is a virtual recreation of the legendary Oberheim OB-X. It is available in VSTi (Windows) and Reaktor ensemble (Windows & Mac OS X) versions. The VST version features separate signal paths for each of the six voices, with slight differences in sound - the oscillators, filters, envelopes and portamento times differ from voice to voice and can be tuned individually with four global buttons. OP-X Free is a cut down preset version of OP-X offering a small set of selected original OP-X sounds for free use. OP-X Free has got the same basic engine as OP-X while only giving access to a few parameters on a cut-down user interface. OP-X Free can't load any further OP-X patches and does not offer automation or MIDI remote control. OP-X Player is a cut-down preset version of OP-X. It has the same engine and sound as the big OP-X while offering only a few parameters on a cut-down user interface. OP-X Player can load and play any OP-X patch with identical sound as in the full version and comes with the full OP-X patches library containing more than 500 sounds. OP-X Player can be upgraded to the full OP-X for the price difference. OP-X PRO is a virtual recreation of the legendary Oberheim OB-X. It is based on the OP-X engine while offering many additional features for an enhanced analog feel and tremendous sonic potential. One of the main additions was to enhance the already great OP-X filter with multi-mode functionality. Stringer contains sample sets of the ARP Omni, the Logan String Melody II and the Welson Symphony in two engines that can be mixed and layered. The sonic result of a sample based instrument is highly dependent on the way the samples have been converted, recorded, cut and looped. You'll never gain back what you lose e.g. using a bad clock. For the Stringer, every key of the original instruments was sampled using top notch apogee converters. The samples were recorded at full 24Bit/44.1kHz depth to capture every detail.
