Stability | A very cool synth and I'm glad someone took the time to make it. Well, it's a theremin. You can either play it with your midi keyboard, or drag your mouse around the control pad. Controls are useful and really add to the authenticity of the sound: for pitch and amplitude you can choose how quickly the instrument can follow your controls (ie portameno time), the amount of overshoot (which with large values can be used to create vibrato), and for amplitude you can choose a decay time (if you want one). Is anything missing? Not really, but it would be nice to have some choice over the tone of the instrument -- while traditional theremins all produced more-or-less sineish output, there was still a fair bit of variation in their tones (some theremins, like the paia ones, can even produce square waves). Sometimes I use the BJ Wavechanger plugin effect to transform the output into a different waveform. It would also be nice to have a choice for a larger control surface to allow for some degree of precision when playing the thing. But then again, real theremins are much harder to play than they look. Can't complain much about something that's free, though, especially when it's so much fun to make noise with! |

Stability | Very Odd and very very very kewl ! I used the theremin in fractal tune smithy a lot And now i have the same theremin adjustable with various knobs
Only one sound provided ... would be fun to play with this thing with other sounds ... with the theremin from fractal tune i controll my kurzweil k2500s in realtime ... however i need to switch from the screen to my workstation to make soundadjusts
anyway .def. a one trick that is mega kewl ...would like to see a newer version .... no problem to pay for it ...
fx pansion ...thank you for the free plugin ...it is being used heavily in my dub and funk creations !! |

Stability | aww i love the mysterion :-)
it really is a "one trick pony" but hey, this one trick made the theremin a legend :-)
you cant really review this thing i guess - the sinewave sounds like...well...a sinewave, the one sound it has does what its supposed to do, and the UI is cool.
one thing that would be cool would be more optional waveforms, saw, square etc to use with this nice UI, but hey, in a way that probably wouldnt be very true to the original, and its freeware...
*bows as always*
the funny thing is, i think i have used this much more often than some of the synths with full feature set. nothing like a good specialist plugin... |
