Stability | This is my stock drum machine. I've used it in every single song I've ever done. Easy to use, simplistic operation, and plenty of features. Two mute groups are very useful (one for hats and one for kick / snare-based drum loops). The pitch shifting, panning, and blending make it very easy to create realistic cymbals. The single stereo output is very limiting, as it means that if you want to vary a send level on a drum, you have to output it in mono and then pan it. However, it is nice to have 6 mono outputs: kick, snare, hats, ambient drums, fx, loops, etc. Why not run two or three in combination? CPU is usage is suited to just that. LM4 kit inport? KvR supplies the kits. Kit export is damn easy. And free? The price is right, Bob. |

Stability | Excerpt from the orion-central review.
If you are on a budget and need a drum-machine with velocity features or one that can load LM4 and LM9 kits, this is the one to get. It is not a contender to professional commercial units like LinPlug's own RM III or Native Instrument's Battery, but it's as close as you can get for free. I hope LinPlug will bring out an update though, with at least the option to preview sounds from the user interface. If they throw in the new user interface graphics that's on other LinPlug synths at the moment, I think the RMF will get a lot of renewed attention.
