Cinematique Instruments releases "Cheap Keys", "Metal Strings" and "Eerie Textures" "Gecko instruments" for Kontakt

23rd March 2011

Cinematique Instruments has announced the release of three more products in its new "Gecko" instruments series for Kontakt.

Gecko is a novel instrument concept for Kontakt which gives you the ability to compose quickly almost endless variations of a special instrument category such as "Strings", "Mallets", "Environs, "Percussion", etc. The principle of Gecko is the simultaneous use of up to 6 loadable sound-slots - each of them can be loaded with up to 20 well-prepared sound-sources which comes from the entire Cinematique Instruments Library enriched by several new sound-creations. There will be 7 Geckos: Cheap Keys, Odd Mallets, Metal Strings, Eerie Textures, Warm Pads and Glitchy Rhythmer are available now with Complex Environs still to come.

Metal Strings: This gecko contains all the strings of the Cinematique Instruments Library in one patch: Autoharp, Celtic Nylon Harp, Kantele, Monochord and the newbies Hammeres Dulcimer and Guitar Harmonics. The right instrument to give your music a bright shimmer. You get options to mix them all as you like. Metal Strings provides a brand new feature of Gecko: A solo switch to hear each sound slot separately.

Cheap Keys: Odd and headstrong. This gecko shines with an unusual and exceptional assortment of keyboard sounds such as old rhodes, cheap synthetic e-pianos or charming organ sounds - enriched by various vintage synths, lo-fi guitars and noises.

Eerie Textures: The experimental one. Have you always wanted to compose your own extensive sound sculpture? This gecko delivers just about all you need: dark tonal textures, strange sonic figures and eerie sound sources such as waggon crackling or pan-fry noises. Having said this, it is more than logical that this Gecko is best suitable for composing wonderful dark and expressive sound textures or experimental non-harmonic sound movements. Although its sound options make it a perfect match when writing score or theatre music, you can exploit it for any kind of music at all.

Further Information
Gecko is easy to work with. You just load one of the sound-sources into one of the six slots - you can play all 6 sounds-sources at the same time - set the volume and the pan separately of each sound-slot. This means you've got a matrix of, for example, 20 x 6 sounds which makes a theoretical amount of about 100,000 variations, arithmetically speaking. Beside this you can adjust the global sound of the whole instrument by using different kinds of filters, reverb and speaker simulation.

For people who like just to play around there are interesting preset variations. For those who want to get inspired of the uncountable variations or are just curious about the enormous possibilities Gecko provides a "Randomize!" function which sets all parameters by using a true random generator.

Pricing & Availability

The pricing is €33 for each single Gecko and €175 for all 7 Geckos.
