xoxos releases Aurora VST Synth

30th August 2011

xoxos has released Aurora, a new VST instrument software synth for Windows.

Aurora VST features stereo unison voicing in 64-bit, anti-aliased hard and soft sync and 16 filter modes. Aurora is part of the "oscillator algorithm synthesizer bundle," intended to provide the user with insight into the various methods used to produce anti-aliased oscillators, so that their attributes can be best applied in composition.

Aurora VST uses band-limited tables with second order hermite interpolation. The architecture of this series is standardized, with contour modulated LFOs and curvable, velocity-to-rate sensitive envelopes.

The Aurora VST demo is limited to 2 voices of polyphony. The full version (8 voices) is part of the $10 bundle which includes Naive Lead VST (naive oversampled oscillators), Standard VST (BLIT oscillators) and W VST (discrete summation formula oscillator).
