Camel Audio releases "Guitar Mutations" and "Ian Boddy: Analogica" for Alchemy and Alchemy Player

21st September 2011

Camel Audio has announced availability of Guitar Mutations and Ian Boddy: Analogica, two highly-affordable additions to its 'powered by Alchemy' range of sound libraries, each allowing users to tweak the sounds using the performance controls and remix pad included in the free 'host' Alchemy Player software instrument plug-in.

Guitar Mutations is a 150-preset (with 1200 variations) library culled from a studio-full of classic guitars warped into strange, new forms - think 'four-necked' instruments with resonating bodies that morph into keyboards, fractal arpeggiations, tortured string soundscapes, stressed whammy bars, and fractured frets, as well as creamy overdrive, shimmering chorus, and chugging riffs.

Canadian sound design experts Nucleus SoundLab provided half of the included 2GB of guitar samples and SFZ instruments with the remainder created by Camel Audio's very own biomechanoid, ably augmented by Andre Ettema, Himalaya, Ole Jeppesen, Christian Kjeldsen, Nick Moritz, Corin Neff, Stephan Romer, and Martin Walker, plus a welcome return from Arksun, all broken down into the following categories for easy access: Arps (18), Bass (9), Guitars (42), Keys (8), Leads (5), Loops (16), Pads (7), Sound Effects (5), Soundscapes (32), and Synth (8).

Guitar Mutations is perfect for creating ambient guitarscapes or adding an innovative edge to rock or electronica productions.

Ian Boddy: Analogica is billed as being a rich marriage of classic synths - freshly sampled from the veteran UK electronic music artist and sound designer's drool-inducing synth collection, including modular setups from the likes of Analogue Systems, Doepfer, Roland, and Serge, plus self-contained classics, such as the EMS VCS3, Moog Minimoog, and the more modern Moog Voyager - and Alchemy's sophisticated digital manipulation capabilities to create a host of unique effects from shimmering ring mod and FM soundscapes; gently flanging pads; darting and weaving arpeggios; rich and squelchy Minimoog basses to subtle wavetable movement; gritty, growling hard sync; and walls of modular madness.

Such soundscapes, pads, and sound effects are equally suited to ambient, electronica, and soundtrack work, and categorised as follows: Arps (17), Bass (16), Leads (16), Pads (26), Sound Effects (24), Soundscapes (30), and Synth (21).

Pricing & Availability

Both sound libraries can be securely ordered from the Camel Audio website for £39 / €49 / $59 each, and directly downloaded as (larger) Alchemy Player versions or smaller-sized files (without Alchemy Player) for use with the 'full-blown' Alchemy sample manipulation plug-in (available separately for £179 / €199 / $249).

Alchemy and Alchemy Player are available for 32- and 64-bit Windows and Mac OS X in VST, AU and RTAS instrument plug-in formats.
