Audio Pluggers becomes MeterPlugs and releases K-Meter x64

29th May 2012

Audio Pluggers, maker of K-Meter, has changed its name to MeterPlugs. The name change reflects the company's decision to focus exclusively on developing meter plug-ins. MeterPlugs also announced the release of K-Meter x64, a 64-bit VST version of K-Meter for Windows.

MeterPlugs has launched a new website, www.meterplugs.com, which features new content and tutorials regarding K-Meter. More content will be introduced in the coming weeks.

The release of K-Meter x64 completes the transition to 64-bits -- K-Meter is now available for both Mac OS X and Windows in 64-bits. K-Meter can be downloaded from meterplugs.com/download.

K-Meter is a vintage-styled meter that helps audio engineers properly level their content. It encourages dynamic, consistent and natural sounding recordings by focusing on average levels instead of peak levels. Audio that is leveled in this way is less prone to unwanted distortion and clipping. This leads to a more enjoyable and less irritating listening experience.

K-Meter supports ITU BS.1770 loudness metering, which weights frequencies based on how loud they would be perceived by a person. K-Meter accurately detects inter-sample peaks by up-sampling the audio signal by up to 4 times its original frequency. K-Meter includes a pink noise generator that can be used to calibrate studio monitors.

K-Meter is available on both Mac OS X and Windows XP/Vista/7 in 32-bit and 64-bit builds. VST and Audio Unit formats are available.

K-Meter sells for $49.
