Samplemodeling releases "The Saxophones" for Win & Mac VST & AU

23rd January 2013

Samplemodeling has released The Saxophones, a collection of virtual instrument plug-ins for Windows and Mac OS X featuring Bari, Tenor, Alto & Soprano saxophones.

The Saxophones utilizes Samplemodeling's proprietary SWAM Engine (Synchronous Wavelength Acoustic Modeling) developed by Stefano Lucato.

The Saxophones use samples as a base material, chromatically performed by a professional player over a very wide dynamic range, and recorded with state-of-the-art technology. The resulting timbre is therefore that of the real instrument. But the analogy with a sample based library ends here. The underlying, proprietary technology allows continuous interpolation among different vectors like time, dynamics, pitch and formants. Advanced real time processing techniques yield realistic legato/portamento, vibrato, overblow, ornamentations & trills with phase continuity, constant-formant pitchbends, subharmonics, growl and flutter tongue to be performed in real time.

Pricing & Availability

The Saxophones are supplied as a bundle of plug-ins for 32- and 64-bit Windows and Mac OS X in AU and VST formats for €259 (+VAT, if applicable).

Owners of any Samplemodeling saxophone (Mr. Sax T, Mr. Sax A+B, The Sax Brothers or Ms. Sax S.), purchased before January 21st, 2013, are entitled to a substantial discount if purchasing the new, SWAM-based Saxophones package before March 31st, 2013: €149 (+VAT, if applicable).
