IK Multimedia updates iGrand Piano and iLectric Piano for iOS to v1.1 - Now Audiobus Compatible

IK Multimedia has updated iLectric Piano and iGrand Piano for iOS to version 1.1, adding support for Audiobus and background audio in both apps.

Changes:

• Support for Audiobus.
• Supports background audio with other audio apps.
• Improved audio compatibility with docks and other external devices.

With the "Background Audio" switch in Settings, iGrand Piano and iLectric Piano (also with SampleTank) were always able to play in the background when you needed to switch to non-audio apps. However, when another audio app was launched, iGrand Piano would stop playing and relinquish the device's audio output to the new audio app. Now with this update, you can continue playing iGrand Piano or iLectric Piano in the background, even with another audio app open. This means that you can layer iGrand Piano with iLectric Piano and SampleTank or any other audio app that supports this, or you can send MIDI information on multiple channels to play different parts on the various instruments simultaneously. Don't want to do that? To simply play your audio apps one at a time, go to settings and switch "Background Audio" off.

iLectric Piano and iGrand Piano with Audiobus compatibility are available now, and are free updates for existing users. iLectric Piano for iPad is available on the App Store for $19.99/€17.99. iGrand Piano for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is available on the App Store for $19.99/€17.99. Free versions of both apps are also available.
