BTE Audio releases BEQ2 British Console Equaliser Algorithm for Software Developers
13th February 2008
BTE Audio has extended its line of Equalization Algorithms with the BEQ2, a high performance digital equalization algorithm that simulates the sound and feel of the world-renowned British Mixing Consoles of the 1970s. With its proprietary topology, the BEQ2 algorithm simultaneously achieves both absolute sonic accuracy and extremely high processing efficiency. Targeted at desktop and embedded professional audio applications, the BEQ2 algorithm will enable third-parties to incorporate the highly revered British EQ sound into their products.
BEQ2 - British Console Equaliser Algorithm
Discrete Class A channel amplifier modules designed for British consoles in the early 1970s are characterized by their unique sonic qualities: tight and balanced low end, wide and smooth mid range and a warm yet lustrous high end. The BEQ2 Algorithm accurately and efficiently simulates these remarkable characteristics in the digital domain with its meticulously designed semi-paragraphic topology.
Key Features:
Specifications: BEQ2 British Console Equaliser Algorithm features twelve bands with continuously variable bandwidths which have the center frequencies 35Hz, 60Hz, 110Hz, 220Hz, 360Hz, 700Hz, 1.6kHz, 3.2kHz, 4.8kHz, 7.2kHz, 10kHz and 12kHz. The amount of boost or attenuation is continuously variable from -18 dB to 18 dB on all bands.
Applications:
BEQ2 Demo:
In order to demonstrate the sound and performance of the BEQ2 Algorithm, BTE Audio has integrated it into a VST Plug-in. Please note that BEQ2 Demo requires a WIBU Systems CodeMeter Stick and it is only available to well-established audio hardware and software manufacturers.
