TC Electronic releases G-System Editor and Software 3.0

11th March 2008

TC Electronic has announced the release of the long awaited G-System Editor for Mac OS X and Windows, which allows for intuitive and real-time control of all functions in G-System, creation of new presets, and sharing presets with other G-System users. The Editor is compatible with Windows XP as well as Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard). G-System Software 3.0 enables use of the Editor and includes modulated delay, a new feature resulting from numerous customer requests. Users will also experience faster reacting expression pedals, faster attack at the compressor, the ability to assign a specific preset to a switch, improved MIDI clock and faster level shift between right and left channel. The Editor and Software 3.0 are relevant for all G-System users, and are downloadable free of charge here.

The PC/Mac Editor makes it possible to control the G-System from a computer via USB cable. Edits made directly on the G-System will also appear in the Editor, which enables the user to save single presets and complete setups and to switch between those by means of the Editor. Consequently, presets and settings can be worked with directly in the Editor without connecting the G-System, and changes can be uploaded when convenient. New presets can be created from scratch in the editor and easily be shared with other users. A connected G-System can also be used as a VST plug-in which makes it possible to record with the same sounds as used live.

G-System combines over 25 top quality effects, loops and power supplies for analog pedals and relays for amp switching, all packed in a road ready housing.

Tore Lynggaard Mogensen, TC Electronic's Product Manager for guitar effects, says: "The Editor has been the number one request from our users ever since G-System was announced, and I'm extremely happy to finally release this valuable tool. It has been a demanding project with a lot of challenges along the way, which pushed the release date far beyond what we were expecting, but I'm positive that our users will find it worth the wait".
