Zero-G Soul Vocalist announced

19th March 2003

Zero-G Limited (UK), a world leader in digital audio samples and soundware development, is developing content in the form of vocal libraries for Vocaloid, the incredible new Singing Synthesis Technology developed by Yamaha Corporation, the world’s largest manufacturer of musical instruments and a leader in digital audio (See the Vocaloid announcement for more info).

Zero-G intends to develop of a range of vocal libraries in order to make the production of vocals in a wide range of voice qualities possible using Vocaloid. Currently, Vocaloid can generate singing in Japanese and English.

Zero-G hopes that its first vocal library, SOUL VOCALIST, will be commercialized by the end of 2003 or early in 2004, this being the time when Yamaha hopes to commercialize Vocaloid. SOUL VOCALIST will include the voices of at least two soul singers, one female and one male, both of which should enable Vocaloid to create a range of expressive and soulful singing from loud and powerful to soft and intimate.
