FX Teleport announced
15th May 2003
FX Teleport.com has announced its forthcoming release of FX Teleport - a unique revolutionary DAW networking solution.

With FX Teleport it's not only possible, but also very easy to setup a DAW on multiple computers connected via TCP/IP LAN. Working with FXTeleport is as easy as launching a VST host on one machine and VST instruments and FX on the other(s) and enjoying the newly configured audio processing farm. One can even dedicate a whole computer to a favourite VST synth.

How does it work?

On the host machine, where the sequencer is running, there's a VST wrapper. Also you may see a new VST folder named "FX Teleport" with all familiar plug-ins, but with (LAN) extensions. You can use those FX in the usual way you work with VST plug-ins. When such an effect is used, the VST wrapper launches and searches for FX Teleport server applications on the network, and on finding those starts the chosen effect on the remote machine. Next the VST wrapper serves as a bridge between the host and the remote machine. It flows the stream to the effect and processed signal back to the host machine.

FX Teleport features:

  • Unique VST over LAN solution:
    - Reduces DAW CPU load.
    - Provides dedicated terminal for FX.
    - Prevents loss of data when FX crashes.
  • Full host integration:
    - FX parameters saved in the host song/project file.
    - Host automation support.
    - Audio streams to host mixer.
  • Instant remote/local mode switch.
  • No jitter.
  • Small and constant latency.
  • Automatic and manual latency adjustment.
  • Sample accurate mode enabled.
  • Live performance enabled.
  • VST 2 support.
  • Support of multi-input and multi-output FX and instruments.
  • UDP and TCP support.

Pricing and Availability:

FX Teleport for Windows 98/ME/2k/XP will be released in June 2003 and will be available with manufacturer's suggested retail price $79 / Eu79 for 1 host + 1 FX server configuration. A demo version will be available.
