Roland has announced a new RTAS-compatible software editor for Roland's Sonic Cell Synthesizer Module. Along with the already-supported Audio Units and VSTi formats, the addition of RTAS support will enable Pro Tools users to add the power of Roland's Sonic Cell to their digital audio workstation.

Sonic Cell is designed for computer-based musicians who need a compact, integrated, professional sound module with the sound quality of a Roland hardware synthesizer. The Sonic Cell easily integrates within DAW applications via its onboard USB MIDI interface and editor software, which provides plug-in type control of patch creation, mixing of the Sonic Cell's 16-part multi-timbral sound engine and multi-effects routing.

"We've received many requests from Pro Tools users to add RTAS integration," says Product Manager, Vince LaDuca. "We're thrilled that Pro Tools users can now use the Sonic Cell alongside their favorite RTAS soft-synths, plus use the Sonic Cell's hardware engine to help minimize the burden on their computer's processor for more efficient and stable performance."
