PlugInGuru.com has announced the release of BeatTropolis Volumes 1 and 2. These two new drum loop libraries cover a melting pot of musical styles (hip hop, techno, dance, rock) as well as techniques (programmed grooves, live drummer, chopped synth and synth bass lines) in the RX2 (Recycle) format.

  • BeatTropolis Volume 1 offers a total of 105 full mixes, small mixes, breakdowns, elements and more.
  • BeatTropolis Volume 2 adds 97 more loops of the same style to the collection.

Each volume can be purchased for $30 each (or get both Volumes 1 and 2 for $50 when you purchase them together).

"I used lots of advanced tricks and techniques to get these RX2 drum loops to sound great at a wide range of tempos," PlugInGuru owner John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl shares. "Any version of this drum loop library or my preset 'Power Packs' are available to purchase and download from my sound vault to your computer, so you can be jamming with fresh sounds and grooves immediately!"

Additional products offered by PlugInGuru.com that we haven't reported at KVR before include "PowerPack" preset collections for Stylus RMX 1.8 (200 presets for $30) and Native Instruments' FM8 (72 presets for $30). PlugInGuru.com also hosts free online video "Power Reviews" which are aimed at teaching musicians how to get the most out of their plug-ins. Current videos include a two-part series for Native Instruments FM8. Plus, the first two of a four part series covering Spectrasonics Stylus RMX 1.8 are now available, with parts three and four coming soon. There are also free demo banks of the PowerPack so you can download and try before buying the full version.

PlugInGuru.com is the brainchild of John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl, a sound programmer for Korg keyboards as well as the maker of the drum loop libraries "Skippy's Big Bad Beats" and "Skippy's NoizBox." He has also developed sounds for Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, and Camel Audios. Lehmkuhl is frequently tapped for his talent as a keyboardist, sound and drum programmer for artists like Boys II Men, Mariah Carey, Harry Gregson-Williams, Fleetwood Mac, Kenny Loggins, and many more.
