SQ4² v1.0 released
24th August 2004
SQ4² is described as the ultimate "Scratchpad/Inspiration" tool. The idea is to extract the main parts of music into 4 different entities - TIME / PITCH / DYNAMICS / DURATION.

It has 5 main panels, MIDI, Audio, Inspire, Mix and Controller and each panel has 4 pages. Each page has four channels (sometimes called blocks). So there are 16 channels (blocks) per panel.

Features:

  • Complete automation of VSTi parameters, through parameter changes / MIDI CC.
  • Complete control over Timing/Pitch/Velocity/Duration in a independent way of each other (ideal for multi-rhythms/ever evolving melodies).
  • Control over LoopEnd-points.
  • Creation of Seamless loops / Performance recording.
  • SampleLoop mangling.
  • An inspiration panel to generate sequences in a few seconds.
  • A transposer.

SQ4² comes in 2 flavours:

  • SQ4²-I : controls your external gear through MIDI.
  • SQ4²-II : controls VST Instruments.

SQ4 costs 29 EUR for the MIDI only version, 49 EUR for the VSTi control version or 59 EUR for both. A demo version is available for download.
