Musikmesse 2014Impact Soundworks releases "Celestia: Heavenly Sound Design" for Kontakt
Impact Soundworks has released Celestia: Heavenly Sound Design for the full version of Kontakt 5. This hybrid synth and acoustic instrument is designed to evoke "atmospheric, ethereal, haunting, and evocative sounds" and is aimed at both film/TV/game composers, as well as electronic music producers.
The library of Celestia features over 200+ unique acoustic, synthetic, and vocal sound sources (totaling nearly 6GB compressed) used in over 550 factory presets. An advanced dual-layer synth engine powers each sound, allowing users to edit envelopes, filters, modulation, sample start, and blending between two sources at once. A global rhythm/sequencer, FX rack and perform section round out the instrument.
Celestia includes a collection of "section presets" to help users easily create custom sounds and variations with minimal tweaking: for example, the Rhythm section has its own set of sequencer patterns and gate presets, as does the FX rack, performance settings, and individual layers. By combining internal presets and using the Randomizer button, a huge variety of sounds can be generated from a single source.
"This is one of our most versatile and comprehensive instruments yet," said Aversa, lead designer of Celestia. "Whether you're writing emotional scores, progressive trance, jazz fusion, ambient music, sci-fi, or anything in between, it's easy to find something beautiful and inspiring here."
Celestia is available now for an introductory price of $119 through March 25, 2014, and a list price of $139 after that. Owners of ISW's Juggernaut: Cinematic Electronic Scoring Tools library can crossgrade for an even lower price of $99.
