Ableton has released Beat Tools, a new creative toolkit featuring all the sounds needed for beatmaking.
Available at the Pack store – or included with Push and Live 9 Suite – the Pack brings together more than 120 Drum and Instrument Racks with tweakable processing, over 180 audio loops for slicing, plus MIDI clips, effects chains and more. And everything's set up for hands-on creation, especially with Push.
The Pack puts everything you need for beatmaking in one place. Drum Racks are made up of percussive hits, bass and melodic samples for working on tight-knit ideas for groove and melody on single kits. Over 100 Instrument Racks offer a diverse sound palette for setting moods – from warm bass and smooth electric pianos, to icy pads and sharp leads. A collection of audio loops and phrases are ready for chopping up and creating new grooves and melodies, and nearly 100 MIDI clips are there for reworking into your own ideas, or showing what's possible with the kits.
With all these sounds at your fingertips, Beat Tools is set up for creating ideas and keeping you in your flow, especially with Push. Drum kits and Instrument Racks come with processing and effects chains. Eight Macros are carefully set up for creative tweaking and sound design directly from Push's encoders – take your bass booms from pure to gritty in just a few tweaks. Plus instruments also make use of expressive features like pad aftertouch.
