SSA Plugins today announces that its aXMonitor plugins are updated to version 1.3.2. The update features one major feature addition:
- Load a head related transfer function (HRTF) stored in a .SOFA file for custom binaural rendering.
This update allows the Ambisonic sound scene to be rendered through the HRTF of your choice. This personalisation of binaural rendering of Ambisonics allows for more accurate perception of timbre and source localisation when working with spatial audio.
The aXMonitor plugins come in three levels of spatial resolution, to fit the requirements of your project:
- a1Monitor - first-order Ambisonics to binaural or stereo. Paired with the free a1Panner, this is an inexpensive gateway to spatial audio.
- a3Monitor - third-order Ambisonics for advanced spatial resolution.
- a7Monitor - to render with the highest quality currently possible in a DAW: seventh-order Ambisonics.
