CuteVST has released Hexter, a Windows VSTi port of Sean Bolton's Hexter LADSPA/DSSI synth, which is modeled after the classic 6 operator Yamaha DX7 hardware FM synth.
Features:
- Based on 6 Operator Yamaha DX7 FM architecture.
- Loads and saves standard 32 or 1 patch DX7 SysEx files.
- VSTi: Can load 128 patches, which is 4 standard 32 patch DX7 SysEx files.
- VSTi: Built in patch editor with simple bank edit functions to change the position of a patch.
- VSTi: Built-in effects: Tube-warmth, Chorus, Echo, and Reverb.
Hexter is free and open source (donations welcome). Version 1.0 is available as a VSTi for Windows; an older version (0.5.8) is available in DSSI/LADSPA format for Linux (different GUI, no effects, etc.).
