convolver.sf.net has released version 2.1.7 of Convolver, a DirectX/Windows Media Player effect plug-in that can take a set of impulse response / filter files and convolve them with sound paths mixed from the input channels, mixing the results into a set of specified output channels.

Features:

  • Real time multi-channel convolution is possible even with long filters (e.g. 6 65,536-tap filters can be applied simultaneously at 6 times real time with a 2GHz Pentium M).
  • A wide range of impulse file formats is accepted (including WAV and raw 32-bit float PCM).
  • Convolver can also be used for room correction, cross-over implementation, cross-talk cancellation, etc.

Convolver is free; the source code is also available (GPL).
