8Dio has announced they are releasing Adagio Violins for Kontakt this week. 8Dio says "Adagio marks the most expressive collection of deep-sampled emotional violins ever created and allows you to create completely realistic string sequences with true emotion and passion". The release of Adagio Violins will be followed by Cellos, Violas and Basses - all coming out later this year.

Adagio Violins contains three main groups of violins:

• Full Ensemble Violins (11).
• Chamber/Divisi Violins (3).
• Solo Violin (1).

The three violin groups were all deep-sampled and recorded in a beautiful church environment with different microphone positions (close, far, mixed). 8Dio employed all current generation sampling techniques (ex. true legato, deep sampled repetitions, etc). New techniques (ex. 10 uniquely recorded legato types, legato with round robin, dynamic bowings, loure, etc) were also developed to capture a higher level of emotion and humanity in the performances. The result is a passionate software instrument with several advanced and novel features, yet simple to use and highly playable.
