AAY-Audio has announced the release of aQ-31, a 31-band graphic equalizer plug-in, and aMS-Tools, a set of three "Mid-Side" tools. All are available for Windows as VST effect plug-ins. aq-31 costs $29.99; aMS-Tools is free.

aQ-31 is a traditional 31-band graphic equalizer plug-in with a clean sound. It has switchable gain range +/- 6/12/18/24 dB per band and Q-knob to adjust the filter's bandwidth; this knob allows you to make the equalizing curve more glossy or sharp.

aQ-31 v1.0 includes four versions:

• aQ-31m - mono
• aQ-31s - stereo
• aQ-31lr - stereo dual channel
• aQ-31ms - stereo with mid-side dual channel

aMS-Tools is a set of three "Mid-Side" tools in the VST plug-in format. Using these tools you can encode Left-Right stereo channels to Mid-Side, decode Mid-Side to Left-Right and adjust Mid-Side balance.
