Acon Digital releases free version of Acoustica Audio Editor for Windows

Acon Digital has released a free version of the audio editor Acoustica called Acoustica Basic Edition that includes the most frequently used editing tools as well as support for the VST and DirectX plug-in formats and the professional audio driver interface ASIO.

Acoustica Basic Edition also supports non-destructive editing and effect chains that allows the user to create complete chains of processing tools, including external plug-ins, and save them along with all the parameter settings for later use.

Acoustica Basic Edition 5 for Windows is now available for free on www.acondigital.com.

are the VST plugs in real time yet ? I tried this a few months ago and to hear the vst's effect the file had to be rendered first.

Hi Sarah! Sorry for my late reply, I wasn't aware of the discussions below the news items. The VST's are realtime and they have been so all the time. If you want to tweak the parameters and have non-blocking plug-in dialogs, you can do so from the effect chain editor (also available in the Basic Edition).
