Cakewalk Sonar v2.2 released

Sonar has been updated to v2.2

New Features:

Support for Digidesign Hardware in Windows XP.

SONAR 2.2 introduces support for the following Digidesign hardware, using Digidesign's recently announced ASIO drivers for Windows XP:

• Pro Tools|HD
• Pro Tools|24 MIX
• Pro Tools|24
• Digi 002*
• Digi 001
• Mbox*
• AudioMedia III

* = ASIO driver for Digi 002 and Mbox are only available with the Pro Tools LE 5.3.3 Windows XP installer, which is included with the Digi 002 and Mbox. The ASIO driver that is available for download on Digidesign’s web site will not work with the Digi 002 or Mbox.

Note about ASIO support in SONAR 2.2:
ASIO support in SONAR 2.2 exists primarily to support Digidesign hardware, but SONAR does not enforce this programmatically. Barring any unforeseen compatibility issues, any ASIO driver ought to work automatically, although they can not guarantee that all ASIO drivers will work properly. They have tested ASIO hardware devices from many different manufacturers, and the results have been promising so far.
