Critical Vibrations

Critical Vibrations has released an Ableton Live version of the free acoustic drum library, SM Drums.

SM Drums for Ableton features a deeply-sampled vintage Ludwig drum kit from the 1960s, owned and played by drummer/producer Scott McLean. The original sample library was put together by him and Tod Stillwell, D Smolken, and Suleiman Ali, and until now was only available for Kontakt, Reaper, TX16WX, and SFZ format (as well as the raw WAV files).

The drum rack for Ableton contains 3.7GB of samples recorded at 44.1kHz/24-bit, with up to 64 velocity layers, and up to 8 round robins.

SM Drums for Ableton is available as a free download at Critical Vibrations. All other sample formats are also free downloads at the SM Drums main site, smmdrums.wordpress.com.
