Direct Approach has announced that the LimitX and BoostX VST plug-ins for Windows are now FREE (they were $29.99 each).

The plug-ins are downloadable from the website in the same versions and with the same features as previously released. This includes low latency 64-bit internal processing (32-bit plug-in), and the unique Non-Linear Sample Remapping technology.

LimitX is a transparent, zero latency, limiter plug-in.

Details:

  • Internally all 64-bit processing with dither (works in 32-bit hosts, and most 32-bit apps on 64-bit hosts).
  • Provides up to 6db of additional headroom.
  • Utilizes Non-linear Sample Remapping technology to provide totally automatic limiting without loss of high frequencies.

BoostX is a transparent, zero latency, upward compressor (aka, “parallel compressor”) plug-in.

Details:

  • Internally all 64-bit processing with dither (works in 32-bit hosts, and most 32-bit apps on 64-bit hosts).
  • Provides up to 9.5db of boost to low level signals while keeping high level signals intact and under control.
  • Utilizes Non-linear Sample Remapping technology to boost low level signals without needing to setup multiple tracks, and includes limiting without loss of high frequencies.
