Logic 5.5 for Mac OS and Windows has been released and provides all users with the opportunity to test the new EXS24 MKII software sampler for a period of four weeks, free-of-charge. In addition to the new facilities afforded by the EXS24 MKII (see below), the Logic update offers several new features which are described in detail in the "update info" file. Among these new features is the addition of OMF and Open TL file import and export in Logic for Mac OS X.

As a result of the close co-operation with third-party plug-in-developers, Emagic's programming team have enhanced the Audio Unit functionality of Logic for Mac OS X - as evidenced in the areas of improved user interface design, and the newly-added support of Music Effects.

The update is now available as a free download for all owners of Logic 5 for Mac OS 9.x, Mac OS X and Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP.

The EXS24 MK II builds on the 32-bit internal processing, precise timing, seamless integration and intelligent project management of the original EXS24 with new features including a new superior sounding multi-mode filter, 3 LFOs, new user-interface and a completely flexible modulation routing system from any source (including side chain level) to any target.

The EXS24 MK II is now available as a free of charge update for existing Logic 5 users for both Mac and Windows in November 2002 as part of the free Logic Series 5.5 update.
