Music software and hardware company Arturia announces the end of an agreement with Moog Music that will see its Moog Modular V and Minimoog V soft synths soon re-emerging as the updated and renamed Modular V and Mini-V, and is marking the occasion by giving away a one-off 'commemorative' edition of the Minimoog-V on World Music Day...
On June 21, 2012, only, musicians everywhere can download Minimoog-V Original from the Arturia website — for free!
Minimoog-V Original includes all the sounds (more than 1,000 presets created by talented artists and renowned sound designers) and features (32-voice polyphony, plus much more besides) from the latest Minimoog- V update (Version 2.5), but without the additional functionality accessible behind the 'hinged' front panel — just like the original Minimoog.
It's been several years since Arturia announced the release of its Minimoog-V soft synth — modelling the distinctive tones and analogue nuances of the legendary Seventies-vintage Minimoog Model D monosynth — in an agreement with Moog Music initiated by Bob Moog himself. What better way to toast the passing of that productive partnership and end the arrangement between the two companies on a high note than with a generous give-away on World Music Day?
Download Minimoog-V Original for free from the Arturia website.

SarahBellum hey there, can anyone tell me if the Arturia 'Freebie' is a scam ? - i hit 'like' then clicked download, then some dodgy app wants permission to access everything i've ever posted, all my photos, and who all my friends are, contacts details etc - WOE do they want that for ? Thats not free !
also it says at the bottom "All competitions on the Arturia Facebook page are hosted by and on Arturia, not on Facebook. Any promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. The competition entrant is providing information to Arturia and not to Facebook." - but this is on FB as going to their website and clicking redirects you here - smells a bit fishy !
michaelwilliambarnett HI there, Yeah this seems really weird to me as well. When i first came back to the e-mail link to try the download, the page would just keep timing out and I thought "server overload". So, eventually I was able to lock-on...But that first attempt was directing me to a completely different page than the facebook page...the facebook page showed up after the the initial log-in crashed! It acts like some kinda' spyware.
Septimon If you manage to enter the arturia download site, you won't need FB. Simply fill in your name and email adress and you will receive a download link and serial.
SarahBellum FINALLY - it took 11 hours but i finally got through on their website and downloaded it. DON'T USE THE FACEBOOK LINK, go to http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/products/minimoogv/minimoogv-original.html instead, it just asks for your name and email, and doesn't involve some dodgy 3rd party data-mining app
pa_syxtem Well, well, well... Free... as in give me all your private details, and I promise I won't use it, and maybe, in 24 hours, I'll give you a link for the freebee... (real message when you go through the f*ckbook crap, which I went through with a false name and a "junk" e-mail account, anyway...)
C'mon, companies, can't you understand many of us WON'T let you track us? Can't understand how insulting people's intelligence will NEVER bring you more cusomers? Know what? Even if you finally send me the link, I'll never install it if it's not a simple, portable (as in no mess in my system), dll + support folder...
I don't use cracks, I simply use legit freeware that don't mess with my system (folders, registry, etc.), and I HATE f*uckbook. Sad, cause Arturia is a good french compagny that I would like to support, but these are very lame tactics, bye bye...
PhilterPlugs arturia, arturia, what should i say?
first of all: thx for the freebie BUT: Forcing users to "like" something on FB is really the crapiest thing EVER !
fortunately i use a "fake" profile for freebies like this synth, MOST companies in theese days do ALL their user-targeting marketing stuff (winning prices, getting freebies) on FB , which has the side effect that people like ME and a lot of other people here are dissapointed and simply don't trust the company arturia any longer.
okay, they for sure will say: "nono it was NOT required to go the way over facebook, it was just the only way to get it elsewhere when their servers were down". but that doesn't matter. i would be (almost)fine with the solution
i get the link on your facebook page
BUT why the hell do i have to use a APP for that?
when you ask me 80 % of all the FB apps are only for collecting/stealing information about the user.
perhaps i was living somewhere in dreamland but i always thought there were still companies out there THAT SIMPLY DON'T NEED ANNOYING PROCEDURES like that. okay, now i know better....
And, BTW Arturia, i will return to the facebook page and unlike it now JUST BECAUSE OF THAT!
I love your products but i do love them because they are great and NOT because you want me to like them.
but in theese days a LIKE on FB seems to be more worth than a human satisfied user.
i mean, let's be serious: when i want to download a freebie like the moog, then it's obvious that i somehow like the product or? (who loads stuff that he/she does NOT like? Not me...)
end the story: i will of course use the moog(perhaps best in a sandbox-environment :p?) and i still love it,
but i will UNLIKE Arturia because i think this has nothing to do with user friendly marketing .
EPIC FAIL
