IK Multimedia has announced Lurssen Mastering Console, a new and unique mastering approach developed in collaboration with multi-Grammy Award winning and world-renowned mastering studio, Lurssen Mastering in Los Angeles, CA.
Designed to be an effortless mastering tool for musicians and producers of all skill levels, it digitally recreates the unique "whole is greater than its parts" approach utilized by Gavin Lurssen and his team in the studio. Lurssen Mastering Console provides a top of the line mastering processor chain with parameters that can be recalled as 20 different "Styles", created by Gavin and his team to reflect the settings they've developed from over 25 years of experience mastering hip-hop, rock, pop, country, Americana and more.
The Lurssen Mastering Console helps you to get results quickly thanks to 20 pre-made "Styles" templates, created and optimized by Gavin Lurssen, mastering engineer Reuben Cohen and the rest of the team. The Templates reflect decades of combined mastering experience and fit a broad range of musical genres.
Lurssen Mastering Console is very easy to use thanks to its streamlined interface. Musicians can take control of their master with the Input Drive knob, five band EQ and special "Push" knob, which lets users "ride" the flow of the song, making subtle and uniform EQ adjustments to enhance dynamics and create emotion throughout the song. Changes to the five band EQ can be saved as presets on top of Gavin's styles. Recorded automation can be viewed and edited thanks to Lurssen Mastering Console's waveform display.
Lurssen Mastering Console allows for an extreme degree of sonic detail thanks to its 88.2/96kHz DSP processing. Finished audio tendered with Lurssen Mastering Console sounds great in any format and can be exported in all popular file formats from AAC to WAV, FLAC and beyond. It also allows for quick export to File Sharing, SoundCloud and more.
Pricing and availability
Lurssen Mastering Console is available now for iPad via the App Store as a free app with a functional demo mode. All content can be unlocked via a one-time in-app purchase of $/€99.99. A separate version for Mac and PC is available for preorder from the IK online store for a special price of just $/€199.99*. Lurssen Mastering Console for Mac/PC will be available in February, 2016 for $/€299.99*.
