IK Multimedia releases AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix for iOS (and in-app purchase in AmpliTube)

IK Multimedia has released AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix for iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, in collaboration with Authentic Hendrix to commemorate Jimi Hendrix's 70th birthday. AmpliTube for iPhone/iPod touch and iPad have been updated to v2.8 and offer the new Jimi Hendrix models through in-app purchase.

AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix for iPhone/ iPad features two amplifiers: JH Gold (model based on Marshall JTM 45 ), the amp that Hendrix used almost exclusively from 1968 on, and JH Dual (model based on a Fender Dual Showman), each with a matching cabinet.

Five effects are included: Uni-V (model based on Univox Uni-Vibe), Octa-V (model based on the Roger Mayer Octavia), Fuzz Age (based on the Arbiter Fuzz Face ), Noise Filter (from AmpliTube), and Wah 46 (model based on the Vox V846 wah), which is unlocked after registration. The stompboxes can be placed in any order in the four effects slots, and there's a choice of a condenser or dynamic mic on the virtual speaker cabinet.

In the Song player window, users can directly purchase Hendrix songs such as "Hey Joe," "Fire," "Voodoo Chile" and many others, and play along with them using authentic Hendrix tones. The Song player can also load songs from the user library, via Wi-Fi, and through File Sharing.

The apps are equipped with a single track recorder that can be expanded to 4-tracks via in-app purchase. Also included are essentials like a metronome, a tuner and more.
