Klanghelm has released DC1A, a new free character compressor.

DC1A is the little brother of Klanghelm's upcoming dynamics processor DC8C. Klanghelm has taken a favorite compression style from DC8C and put it into a two-control context. Inspired by classic opto and FET designs DC1A provides effortless compression that doesn't degrade the source.

The goal was to create a compressor, that just works: gentle, faithful, from almost invisible, smooth leveling to heavy pumping with a nice crunchy saturation and punchy enough to treat drums with.

Klanghelm says "DC1A looks like a one trick pony. But don't get fooled by lack of further controls. You may be surprised, on how many different material this little thing shines. DC1A is heavily program dependent, so is the saturation."
