Myst Sonic has announced the release of Ryan Cheng's Guzheng Collection Vol.1 - a unique sampled instrument, utilising the power of the popular Kontakt platform, and designed for quick and easy integration into your workflow.
As a senior Guzheng professor, Ryan Cheng has spent years researching and developing the best construction methods and timber choices for the perfect Guzheng. Together with Professor Cheng, Myst Sonic sampled this 21 steel string instrument, a favourite from his own private collection.
Myst Sonic says "The steel strung Guzheng is very rare, and this combined with its unique body construction makes the instrument especially unique. Similar to a high quality acoustic guitar, the steel strung Guzheng requires excellent timber quality for optimum sound, and accordingly the sound board of this GuZheng is made from 30 year old natural Pawlownia Elongat wood and the bodysides from ancient red woods."
With Professor Cheng as technical adviser, this sampled instrument makes full use of the Kontakt script engine to enable easy emulation of authentic Guzheng playing styles.
