New Sonic Arts has announced the release of Granite, a new Granular Synthesizer VST instrument plug-in for Windows. It's available now for €60.

Granite is a granular synthesizer which is particularly suited for generating evolving, organic textures and atmospheres, but is also surprisingly capable at creating dark bass tones and loop processing.

Granite's sound is highly dependent on the input material, but the grain engine parameters have been carefully refined and scaled to allow complete transformation of any material in a fast and musical way.

Most parameters can be modulated with the innovative internal movement recorders, in addition to being controllable by host automation and MIDI CCs.

A demo version (no saving) is available for free download for Windows XP or higher, including a range of demo sounds.
