Beta 3 of Psycle version 1.8.8 is now available.
Major features of this new release is a complete WASAPI audio driver for Windows Vista and 7, support for 24- and 32-bits for MME waveout and Directsound, and an improved MIDI input (for both, the keyboard and sequenced modes).
Yannis MIDI and Fluidsynth SF2 were improved. With the improvements in MIDI input, Psycle can be used as a softsynth now. Finally, the multithreaded engine got some improvements too.
The release is almost ready. There are a couple of native instruments (blitz, stk shakers/plucked and pooplog synths) which still need to be sample rate aware, and finish features like the VST bit bridge (to use 32-bit VSTs in x64 and vice versa).
NOTE: WASAPI shared mode in Windows Vista is not working correctly. In Windows 7 it works as expected. Also, there's a bug affecting exclusive mode in both OSes where it doesn't restore the buffer size after re-launching Psycle, so Vista users will have to wait for a newer version to properly use it.
